Why?
PE offers a broad array of tools supporting personal and professional educational development. Learning about various resources and practices in PE connects us with specific tools and strategies to support our passion for growth and development whether it be with students in the classroom, with faculty and other stakeholders we support, with our own career, or broadly within our own life as we actively pursue our ideal selves. This session provides a model you can use to see how PE tools and content align with the big picture of PE. More importantly, this session will help you plan to actively pursue use of PE resources to support your own goals for growth and development.
Intended Learning Objectives
-
Describe how PE tools and practices support group and individual development through increasingly complex levels of performance.
- Analyze the PE in a Nutshell model for connections to what we, those we work with, and those we mentor need and value most in our work and/or our life.
- Experience how a PE collaborative learning activity can produce meaningful learning for both individuals and groups.
Performance Criteria
-
Identify ways PE may help you, those you work with, and those you mentor to flourish by producing the greatest possible meaning and growth in your work and your life.
- Use collaborative team roles to assist your team in creating valuable responses to the Critical Thinking Questions.
- Use skills in information processing to selectively skim and extract key learning or questions from the resources provided for yourself and your team.
