In the Classification of Learning Skills, Process 1 of the Social Domain is Communicating and includes the skill, “Writing formally: following specific conventions and formatting standards.” The International Journal of Process Education is committed to publishing formal and scholarly (peer-reviewed) research focused on Process Education and upholds the following criteria for the work it publishes (available on the For Authors page): “(manuscripts submitted should) adhere to journal standards and style and exhibit a high level of quality and attention to details.” Among the IJPE’s guiding principles is the concept that “Every researcher’s methods can be continuously improved.” This workshop has been created specifically to help authors improve their methods by becoming familiar with the IJPE’s “journal standards” as found in the IJPE Style Guide and following those specific conventions and formatting standards. Meeting IJPE’s requirements is far more than just coloring within specific lines, however; the standards to which the IJPE hews are very similar to the standards of other professional journals. Learning to improve your work as a researcher includes learning to make your work accessible to the audience for which you write. In order to do that, you must also ensure that the documentation of your research is acceptable to publishers, such as the IJPE.
