The Jubilee Singers, a nationally acclaimed men's choir from Hinds Community College in Mississippi, will share their unique sound at the 2008 Process Education Conference.

In recent years the Jubilee Singers have also performed for the Congressional Black Caucus' Annual Legislative Conference and the 1999 American Celebration of Music tour of Italy. From the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, the Singers were part of Opera South, which at that time was the only black opera company in the world.

The group is treasured for its mellow and spirited renditions of many musical styles; but especially for the historical plantation music that has been its hallmark for generations.

The Utica group began as one quartet, but their numbers and their reputation as singers quickly grew. In the mid-1920s the Jubilee Singers toured Europe, sang regularly on national radio and made records. When Dr. Cooper became music and choir director at Utica in 1972, he reestablished the Jubilee Singers and incorporated the traditions and music of the past into their new repertoire.
