The conference theme is:

Facilitating Transformational Learning

There is much more to education than mastery of subject matter. Transformational change (growth) within an individual is as important as knowledge which that individual constructs. As educators strive to help their students meet the increasingly complex and fast-changing challenges of the contemporary world, educators will make a difference to the extent that they facilitate processes that result in new forms of knowledge, introduce and support the learning skills needed for real-world issues and problems, and promote students’ ownership of their own continuing growth and improvement. This year's conference theme was selected to illuminate and disseminate techniques that are focused on strengthening the design and facilitation of learning environments that are engaging, meaningful, productive, and responsive to the challenges facing our students.
