Preparation is critical for gaining the most from the PE/CoTL Conference. Prepare by visiting the Conference Resources Site and reading the resources provided for each session you plan to attend.

As you're planning out your session attendance for the Conference, do you see simultaneous sessions and wish you could attend both? Aren't you glad that someone else will be a recorder for that session? You can return the favor by volunteering to record a session that you attend.  Recording is an opportunity this professional skills, and to capture the learning and insights from a session you want to think more deeply about. The Hall of Innovation provides easy access for conference attendees to share favorite teaching/learning strategies that promote better student and program outcomes. All you have to do is bring along some Powerpoint poster elements (we can arrange to have these printed) that can be placed on poster boards (that we supply). The purpose of the session is to invite interaction with other participants that can both disseminate and further refine these practices as well as support networking among conference-goers. We will have two 45 minute poster viewing groups, so if you do a poster you will still have plenty of time to visit other posters. Go ahead and take the risk. Urban Wild, an exhibit at the Alabama Contemporary Art Center, and curated by Elizabet Elliott, is an exhibition of work that sits at the intersection of Southern street culture and fine art traditions. The historical city streets and dirt roads of the Deep South are a whole other kind of backdrop for these works, inspiring art that is as eclectic as it is playful. These artists draw from graffiti, tattoo, skate, and hip-hop culture, as well as comic book illustration, pop art, folk art, and even old-fashioned sign painting. This exhibition aims to capture the breadth and diversity of art that makes public place its forum, as the Southern Street becomes a stage and canvas all its own.

Southern Cuisine Dinner will be served in the Terrace Room at the Alabama Contemporary Art Center

Located on the third floor, the Terrace Room offers a dramatic backdrop for any occasion. Overlooking Cathedral Square and providing panoramic views of the Mobile skyline, this space features direct access to the rooftop terrace, an adjacent catering kitchen, and elevator access.
