Board Business

The AoPE Board met on February 28th with a great number of members present sharing their thoughts and concerns. Patrick Barlow gave an update on the progress of the conference planning including a consideration of software for purchase by the Academy, Panopto. The software allows for processing and electronic storage of poster presentations. The Panopto Proposal can be perused on the Academy site. The other aspects of the conference are coming together including securing the keynote speaker and receiving registrations/submissions. Members are urged to register.

Steve Spicklemire, Ingrid Ulbrich and Peter Smith produced a report (Newsletter Survey_Analysis – Google Docs ) on the newsletter which members should read. The sampling size was small, however, with a good variety of responses, it looks like the membership does prefer a newsletter monthly with articles focused on the practitioner’s side of PE.

There was a good discussion on our social media presence and we are pleased to announce that Denna Hintze has agreed to become the Communications Director. Denna will produce a vision plan for discussion at the next PE meeting.

We do need more volunteers, particularly for the Vice Chair position. We also need someone to serve as Membership Chair. Members are asked to reach out to Patrick Barlow with nominations for Vice Chair and please reach out to anyone on the board if you are interested in serving as Membership Chair. As the insight of the meeting points out, we as an organization give back in so many ways to society in general, not just to each other and your volunteerism is a big part of that.

Please see the full meeting draft minutes in the forum for more details on the meeting and feel free to comment in the forum. Please check out the next Self-Growth Institute at UC Santa Cruz (CA), June 25 – July 1, offered by Pacific Crest.
